Hamas surely knew what Israel’s reaction would be. And there’s no way they can take on the Israeli army.
Hostages… would or could they be weaponised?
Well, you could tie bombs around them and send them on out. But taking out another couple of hundred Israelis is not gonna win them the war.
What if you made them ill? And used them as walking plague bearers?

I think they are counting on Iran to pull the trigger on Hezbollah and launch a major offensive up north so the Israeli army has to split in two for a fight on two fronts.
The intel folks are saying the Iranians were surprised by the Hamas attack which seems odd since we all know they were giving Hamas thousands of missiles and other weapons.
