I have always said he is overrated, comparing him to Jack is ridiculous. Every year its the same thing with Tiger, he plays like crap in most tournaments and then all of a sudden wins a tournament and all of a sudden everyone is back to calling him the #1 golfer and the best golfer ever, yeah lets just forget him missing the cut in previous tournament and his other horrible results and put him over these people who have 4 or 5 top 5 finishes. Tiger started out great but is not the best golfer playing right now, let alone greatest golfer ever. The next tournament will prove my point and then no one will say anything about him, and then when he finally wins another one after that, it will be back to, Oh Tiger how great he is.

So who is the best golfer playing right now?

Tiger has the record for most consecutive cuts made so your agruement that he plays like crap in most tournaments is worthless since everyone else plays like more crap by your analysis. Tiger has won more tournaments than anyone else on tour today. He has won more Majors than anyone else. He is a clutch golfer. If you won't forget Tiger's poor weeks, then you cannot forget everyone else's. Name any golfer out there and I will show how Tiger is a better golfer than them. Bring it!

I wouldn't say he's the best golfer ever at this point but clearly he is the best golfer currently on tour. He has the record for most consecutive cuts made. Most majors won of any golfer currently on tour. Probably the most tour wins of anyone currently on tour. What more proof do you need? I mean just because the man had a bad tournament the last couple of times out doesn't dimish his accomplishments. The guys father just died for crying out loud cut him some slack.

Of course he has won more tournaments than anyone, until this year he was playing in like every tournament, which is also the reason for the most consecutive cuts made. You make the cut at a major right, and then you go play in 6 local tournaments against no named players, bam!!! you have made 7 consecutive cuts. And yes he does have the most majors won of players playing now but, like I said he started his career very well and is still called the best golfer because of that stuff and not anything he has done as of late. Tiger is definately not a clutch golfer, if anything he is one of the most inconsistent golfers playing right now. As for right now, Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk are better. Heck even Adam Scott, and you probably don't even know who he is, lol.

You see, because Tiger is only talked about when he wins something you think I am only saying this because of his bad playing this year. I'm talking about the last few years of his bad playing. All he has to do is win a major during the year and all his poor playing during the rest of that year is forgotten and people say how great he is.

Tiger's not clutch, but Mickelson is? I think you missed the US Open this year. Tiger hasn't lost a tournament he led on Sunday. Tiger has won more majors than all three of those guys combined. Tiger plays in the same tournaments the Phil, Jim and Adam play in. Why aren't they making the same number of cuts.
He hasn't done anything of late? Who won the British Open? Every possible statistic says Tiger is the best player in the world. He wins tournaments. He makes cuts. How can he be the most inconsistent and be the winningest? How can he have the record for most cuts made and be the most inconsistent? Give me the stats where any of those guys beats Tiger.

I have been a fan of Mickelson and Furyk for a long time, plus Vijay and Duval, who seems to be making a comeback. And Adam Scott certainly looks like he'll be a top player.

Of all of those guys I think Furyk is the one least likely to fade in the stretch.

But Tiger is still the guy to beat in every tournament he enters and, barring injury, that isn't going to change for a couple of years. Tiger has the same ability to close the door that Jack and Arnie had and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Okay let's look at the last few years then.

2003 - Tiger led the PGA Tour with 5 wins

2004 - Singh had an incredible year and blew everyone away in tour wins. Something like 9 or 10

2005 - Tiger led tour with 6 wins

2006 - So far Tiger leads the tour again with 3 wins.

What is your definition of clutch? With Tiger most people who really watch the sport wonder he he will finish + or - in the tournament lol. He is either on or wayyyyyyy off. The other guys are usually either on or maybe just a bit off. Hard to make good comparisons so far since Tiger has only played 8 tournaments when he would normally have about 10 tournament more than the average at this time of year. When Tiger flops in the PGA Championship, my point will be well proven. Wish he would play in the US Bank Championshsip to prove my point against the no named guys but oh well will have to wait till the Buick Open and then the PGA Championship, I see him missing the cut in one of those and watch how it is hush hush. You won't hear his name through any of either tournament as it is always hidden in the media when he flops.

Definition of clutch = Winning. With the exception of 2004 Tiger has done this more than anyone else on tour for some time now.

What are you talking about? When Tiger missed the cut in the U.S. Open it was the biggest news in sports!

I already gave the reason that Tiger usually has more wins. Why don't you check out how many tournaments played by the top guys every season. He could wind up having the most wins this season if he goes back to playing more tournaments than everyone else.
