The post that was quoted here has been removedIt's many decades since Sweden or Denmark could be considered an "almost all-white society". About a quarter of the Swedish population has a foreign background - some of these of course are from other European countries (most notably Finland), but a high proportion are from the Middle East or Africa. Immigration to Norway was relatively modest until the millennium, but now about 10% of the country's population has a non-Western background. Of the Nordic countries, only Finland and Iceland are still "almost all-white societies".
Right-wing Americans often seem to believe in "Schrodinger's Europe". They claim that Europe consists of ethnically homogeneous societies when it suits particular arguments they want to make. When they want to make a different set of arguments, they claim that Europe is collapsing as a result of mass immigration.
@zahlanzi saidThere is no reason to limit someones ability to support the causes they believe in. Some people of various different political background waste their time at protests (Black Lives Matter or Protesting Election results); others waste their time starting posts on places like this. Others donate money. Some even buy newspapers so they can control the editorial page. There is nothing worse about donating your money than using your time or forming a group to picket and therefore your solution is ridiculous.
It's quite simple. When you own the ones dealing the cards, it's easy to stack the deck in your favor.
Limit campaign donations.
In what other country can politicians get millions to run for office. In what other country do they spend most of their time asking donors for more money (and making sure only bills favoring the most rich get passed to the detriment of the rest)
@quackquack saidyep. no reason. so what if someone has more money than the next 10 million people and is willing to effectively buy politicians. So what if that person spends millions of dollars to get politicians to keep minimum wage at 7.25 or make unions harder to form or allow industries to poison the rivers. All someone who doesn't want those rivers poisoned have to do is buy an equal amount of politicians to offset the ones bough by billionaires.

It's damn easy.
This sarcasm is about as much time as I am willing to spend on your dumb post. Your arguments were too idiotic . You managed to throw in some Black lives matter jab in a discussion about corrupt politicians. It's hilarious how little self awareness you have of how stupid you sound
@teinosuke saidDoes that figure include the Syrian refugees? If it does, I'm not sure it's fair to count that as a sign of Sweden's diversity. But you did mention the racial make up has been changing for decades, so just asking for clarity.

@mwmiller saidyeh, pumpkin, the only problem with your attempt to be funny is that there is one big difference between what some people's perception of america is and what actual facts say.
I can actually feel a vacuum here in the USA from all of the legal an illegal immigrants who turn around and go back to where they came from! 🙂
(For anyone who is 'brain dead', this was sarcasm!)
The discussion was about people actually born in your country in the present who, unlike their parents, can't hope to get to college on a minimum wage wage or eventually buy a house.
Also, there are a ton of people working in the US sending money back home. For them upward mobility doesn't apply, they want to feed their family. They don't care much that they don't have healthcare, they are desperate. They don't care they don't have access to education. They don't care the streets are unsafe, they probably have worse back home.
In the future, before commenting on a topic, try to ask yourself whether you understand what the fuk people are talking about or not
@mwmiller saidYes, I hear they are all headed for China.

Well, except for the darkies, that is. The Chinese have a hard time accepting darkies.
Oh, and the Uighurs. the Chinese don't care too much for them, neither. Oh, and the Tibetans...
the Chinese have a hard time with those dudes. Oh, and the.... 🙄 😢 🤔
