I'm sure this guy's "set of facts" are not "similar" enough in techsouth's opinion to count

SAN DIEGO – Solomon Gordon Raymond, also known as Paul Anthony Raymond, was sentenced today to 57 months in custody by U.S. District Judge Roger T. Benitez for lying to banks on a series of business loan applications he used to take almost $500,000.
@jj-adams saidMaybe their people are either complicit in the crime or too intimidated by Trump's influence in their business to say anything.
So why aren't the financial institutions complaining about it?
Why dids a city DA have to dig it up and after the Feds declined to prosecute it, she took it upon herself to do it?
@techsouth saidYou seem to waffle back and forth on this thread between two positions - "this is not criminal fraud" and "Trump is being unfairly targeted" - even though these are two very different arguments.
"A guilty verdict will do that". Funny.
We are in a conversation where what is being questioned is whether or not Trump is being prosecuted for something that others have not (or would not) be prosecuted for. One way to demonstrate that this is NOT the case is to cite other examples of OTHER people who have been prosecuted based on a similar set of facts. So I asked ...[text shortened]... if you've ever even wrestled with the possibility that you (like all other humans) have some biases.
LOL you ask me to do your homework for you. A simple google search would tell you that many individuals and corporations get caught artificially inflating their value to secure more financing. It is illegal for obvious reasons. Most settle out of court.
There was no need for this to go to trial. Trump does not need to be present for this. He runs campaign-style events outside the courthouse. He's using it to create the impression that his enemies are "persecuting" him.
Yes, I have biases. I am often wrong. In this case, I don't think we should just agree with what the criminals have to say, without doing any homework.
@wildgrass saidYou are quibbling as usual, splitting hairs just to have something to argue about..

He is being unfairly targeted because it isn't criminal fraud.
@jj-adams saidIt is though.

He is being unfairly targeted because it isn't criminal fraud.
And it's not quibbling. It's still criminal even if other people don't get charged for the same crime. I'm sorry to report that life isn't fair sometimes.
@Mott-The-Hoople
So you believe your god king Trump it is not worth one billion dollars.
He says it is one. EIGHT billion, almost TWO billion.
So you are bill Gates, Bezos or Musk, would you pay a couple billion for that place?
I guess you believe everything coming out of the mind of Trump, like he can telepathically declassify top secret docs or ingest bleach, cures Covid in minutes.
Or Stormy, don't know her.
I guess there is NEVER a bridge to far to make you reject your god king.
He is your religion, that is clear. Just like religious nutters, the more you attack or even VERBALLY diss them the harder they push back, so thoroughly programmed they are, just like you.
