Debates

The regime has changed!
The missiles are all used up.

Or… boats are burning, oil prices are rising and the US is sending marines…

It’s obvious the trump administration is as sharp as George jr. on a dull day in the spoon drawer.

Good grief. As if blowing up the middle east had ever been succesful, now we’ve got incompetent retards trying it.

Which country gave trump that jumbo jet? I’m betting they’re scratching their heads and wondering how unsubtle lobbying had to be to get the man’s bloody attention.

If it wasn’t for civilians being torn to shreds by missiles, this would be a grand comedy.

@shavixmir

Which war is over?

The Iraq war is not yet over.
The Iran war just started.

You're obviously mistaking him for a bloodthirsty Trumpublican.

You fly the Canadian flag, but sound more like a cracker from a trailer park.

That is the sad thing. The lunatic does not understand subtlety. The IRGC has outwitted him by closing the Strait of Hormuz, something he and his team of sycophantic short-sighted advisers had neglected to consider, and his only way of saving face now is to crow to his moronic band of supporters that he won the war by killing the supreme leader, obliterating the airforce, sinking the navy and slamming thousands of missiles into that beautiful country. And all for what? A new leader, even more hard-lined than his father, who has the benefit over trump of a working brain, has taken over and is wreaking financial havoc around the world.
And Trump will smugly retreat dreaming of winning the Nobel Peace Prize for his actions.

Actually, Trump is more calculating than a lot of people here give him credit for. But it's not 5-dimensional chess and certainly nothing to do with diplomacy or national security either. He's a businessman, after all. He is heavily invested in fossil fuels, and when the price of crude goes up, he (and his biliousaire cronies) make huge windfall profits. Crippling Iran's oil production, even temporarily, rakes in huge profits for him. That Iran would close the Strait of Hormuz was entirely predictable and helps him make even more profits.

He and his son, Jared, made a deal w/ the Saudis--Iran's traditional rivals for influence throughout the ME. You will remember Jared went on an undisclosed special mission there and brought home 2 billion dollars for unknown 'services rendered.' This has never been investigated--don't all call it influence peddling, it's just business, so I'm sure there is something in it for the Saud family, too.

Obviously, Trump doesn't give a rat's a$$ about the price at the pump--he never has to pay that for himself.

Wimpiness is the inability to handle one account.

I agree. Trump is no fool, but his thinking is very binary. As you rightly point out he is nothing but a hard-nosed businessman obsessed with personal profiteering and whose MAGA philosophy revolves around tariffs, oil and immigration. “That Iran would close the Strait of Hormuz was entirely predictable”. Mmm, I hope you’re wrong and overstating his clinical Machiavellian scheming.

Trump's entire 'negotiating' tactic is: "do what I want or I'll hurt you." He knows no other. It's pure intimidation. That's how he runs the fed. as well domestically.

Of course, this tactic does not work on Putin, and that's partly why there is no end in sight for the Ukraine conflict; plus the fact that peace is not Putin's objective in Ukraine anyway.

The end of the Iran conflict will not come when Trump "feels it in his bones"--seen his latest dodge in the news, when the war will end? It will come when Iran decides to stop taking revenge on Americans wherever they are on the world, and that could drag another 50 years.

Its the only way to deal with rogues... Eg
- Nigerian Muslims who are killing Christians
- IRGC
- ISIS
- Hamas
- Hezbollah
- Houthis
- Al Queda
- Maduro
- Castro and Cubas leaders

Negotiating done by prior presidents failed.

Apparently, although we know that in a war the first causality is the truth, Iranians are mostly [about 80%] happy and dancing in the street.

Thats all that matters.

I would point out, for the umpteenth time, that there was a treaty in force when T45 came to office; it was working and verifiable. T45 shredded it and replaced it with nothing but mistrust; this proved to the Iranians that Trump could not be trusted. If T45 had honored that treaty, there would be no pretext to invade Iran now.

The fact that the Mullahs are nasty rulers to their own people is no valid reason to assassinate their Supreme Leader and smash up their oil industry. There are plenty of other rogue rulers around the world who are abusing their own people, not least Putin; American is not the world's policeman.
