But if the US were to withdraw from the Middle East, without paying reparations, Iran would have geographical difficulties in continuing the war against the US.
Of course, Iran could use assassinations, terrorist attacks, etc.
But all this would not constitute a large-scale war.
Thus, to some extent, Iran's current threats are merely rhetorical.
Even if Iran could expel the US forces from the Persian Gulf region, it has no means even to try to force the US to pay reparations.
Of course, Iran alone would not be able to force the US to leave the Middle East as well.
But it seems that Iran has been able to seriously hit the US military bases in the Persian Gulf region.
