@averagejoe1 saidI answered your question. Corporations have can do whatever the People's representatives say they can. IF the People decide that anything Corporations are doing is detrimental to what the People want, they can insist their representatives change the rules. They could abolish Corporations altogether if they wished.
Great, let us discuss that fact, which is certainly a fact. We can also talk about the fact that they have boards, and stockholders. And they perform a service or produce products.
Then, we can get back to my question which you will not answer.
Do you not find that a bit strange? Ask your own question of the Forum, rather than waxing on in Teach-mode, as does Duchess.
But first, could you answer the question? Whew.
People brought and sold goods and services long before there were corporations.
@no1marauder saidYou are saying, then, that “The People”. (brrrrr) could, through elected representatives, have laws enacted. Duh.

But RIGHT NOW, corps can, within the law, make their own decisions behind closed doors. My question is asking if you and the people can be involved in the running of the corporation, or, in a process where they dissolve the corporation overnight and split up all the money. I am asking, can you or Professor Musty or anybody have a say in either one of those instances. You will not answer that question.
If you say true, you have no rights to be involved in their business, then i will ask “Do you think you should?”
@averagejoe1 saidThe SEC requires, by law, the disclosure of much of the information you say corporations can keep "behind closed doors." https://www.inc.com/encyclopedia/sec-disclosure-laws-and-regulations.html

These corporations are trying to sell the public their stock; why should they be able to withhold information directly relevant to the stock's value?
@no1marauder saidJesus. Another duh.

I did say act within the law. So why do you just confirm all that I’m saying.
Every entity in the US must regularly report to the government, for many reasons, including protecting the citizens. Whew.
Now, can you answer the question?
