There was nobody to tell them that they are 'Trustees'. The League of Nations started in 1920. and the UN in 1945.
The British owned the region, they spend their money and expertise setting up governments and fixed roads, built hospitals and schools.
The mistake was to partition it. All should have been given to the Jews and those Arab animals should have gotten kicked out in 1948.
