The lady who died in an ER floor waiting for help here in the USA would be comforted to know that people don't die from a lack of health care in free market countries....if she were alive, I mean.:'(

The paradox is that an unlimited guvamint will automatically make itself less free because it's in the interests of parties within guvamint to mislead and misinform consumers.

The biggest baddest monopoly of all - Guvamint
The only party other than criminals to initiate force and threats of force - Guvamint

Part one of six.
Who is advocating "unlimited" government here? Of course there are problems with government monopolies, that's why for some areas in the market the free market is more efficient (e.g. for consumer goods) while for collective goods government control is more efficient. In any case a government monopoly is not as bad as a corporate monopoly, since the former has more interest in keeping the costumers happy.

There is no such thing as a monopoly other than a guvamint monopoly, because it is the guvamint that has carte blanche on the initiation of force and threats of force. The corporation has to keep customers happy. The guvamint only has to make half the voters that can be bothered to turn out happy once that's happened they can force their ideals on everyone else.

Why does a corporation who has a monopoly need to keep costumers happy? I'm not happy with Microsoft, still using Windows though.
