Fair enough.
Now point out ONE woman that has died as the result of being denied an abortion, which you claim is happening, instead of pointing out women that have died as a result of malpractice who never sought an abortion, which has NOTHING to do with your argument.
I don't rely on anecdotes but on scholarly, peer reviewed studies.

Nice cop-out.
The fact is you CAN'T point out one.
So as far as I'm concerned, UNTIL YOU DO, it hasn't happened.

It is NOT malpractice if the treatment is forbidden by law. Those doctors were facing up to ten years in prison if they were caught doing what was illegal D&C which it was and is from those draconian Texas and Georgia laws. The life of the mother has to be in jeopardy before the docs could do their work but for those so far 3 women they waited too long. This is not a malpractice issue where they could be sued in a court of law because the law SPECIFICALLY denies the procedure that would have saved their lives. Those bastards that wrote the laws are are the ones who should go to jail.
If you are really interested in the welfare of women you could google the specifics of those laws in Texas and Georgia and I think Montana which has similar restrictions. ALL ULTRARIGHT states. NO blue state has laws like that and THAT is a fact. This is a rightwing attack on women's rights pure and simple and there is NOTHING you can say that will alter that fact.
Like making abortion illegal after 6 weeks when most women wouldn't even know they are pregnant and no abortion with no exceptions, not even to save the life of the mother. This is an agregious abuse of power by frothing at the mouth politicians and nothing else.

@sonhouse
You still can't point out to a single case of a woman dying after being denied an abortion like the OP claims. .
Get back to us when that happens.

They were denied care they needed to keep them alive. That is enough for me to say those lawmakers should be in jail. It was THEIR laws that caused those deaths.
You are playing semantic games with a serious abuse of power issue.
BTW, they also passed laws saying the mother is now a law breaker if she goes to a safe state for abortion and she goes back to say Texas, she will be under arrest for DARING to leave the state for an abortion. So much for free travel between states.

That was because of mistakes by the attending physicians....had NOTHING to do with abortion laws.
Why can't you get that through your head?

I guess your right wing propaganda WANT'S it to be that way but it is the FUUKING LAW that says if they do the care needed by a woman in regards to birth, abortion or miscarriage, those doctors are not legally ALLOWED to treat those women unless they are LITERALLY on their death bed which in the case of those three women was WAY too late. AND those docs could be sent to jail for ten years AND lose their medical license.
I suggest you research what is going on rather than just making stupid assumptions because it is the LAWS saying they can't act whereas even 5 years ago they would have 100% done the D%C needed to save lives.

Simple answer. Since they do NOT answer questions, including Prof Marauder, I will.
All their responses somehow for some unknown reason weave the Government into the issue. They suckle at the fountain of government. Doing it to confuse you, and, because it is all they got. Also, because they actually believe themselves. They consider it a satisfactory answer. It is not.
So, they think that the word govt answers all questions. They really do.

I might think of the word government 5 times in a year…..including at tax time, of course.

I could care less what an uneducated MAGA moron believes.

I can't name anyone who died at the battle of Gettysburg; does that mean "as far as you are concerned" no one did?

Gee, if the government told you your right to bodily sovereignty didn't exist, you might think about it a bit more.

Here is the third woman to die being refused medical help after miscarriage:

https://www.propublica.org/article/josseli-barnica-death-miscarriage-texas-abortion-ban

One bit from this report:

"Neither had wanted an abortion, but that didn’t matter. Though proponents insist that the laws protect both the life of the fetus and the person carrying it, in practice, doctors have hesitated to provide care under threat of prosecution, prison time and professional ruin."

This has NOTHING to do with malpractice, it is the LAWS that are malpractice.
Those docs could LITERALLY go to jail and lose their license to practice medicine if the did the D&C when a heartbeat was detected. It also did not matter they KNEW the fetus would never survive after birth, that doesn't matter either so they were stuck between a rock and a hard place.

It seems rather straightforward; childbirth has a much higher risk of maternal mortality than legal abortion - 14.6 times according to the study I already provided.

So if you're going to affirmatively force women to give birth rather than have abortions, the rate of maternal mortality would have to rise using simple logic. This is quite apart from the fact that those who would normally choose abortion in many cases do so because of elevated risk factors to their own health.

Now, if you want to claim these women's deaths are a perfectly acceptable price for "saving babies lives" have at it. But don't hold your breath and true blue to deny it is a cost that abortion bans place on these women.
