A doctoral student at Tufts University was whisked away by masked men claiming to be police.

This is not national security, it is naked intimidation. Exactly how it started in Nazi Germany.

To be fair, I think we have to wait and see what is going on with this case. She is in the USA legally; so that's not ice agents; more like FBI or CIA. They suspect her of being some kind of spy for Hamas is the report I heard on the news.
The problem here is, we don't know if she will get 'due process' all thanks to this current lawless administration.

Still, isn't it more than a little creepy that law enforcement officers are concealing their identities from the public? Furthermore, the CIA has no mandate to arrest people within U.S. borders; that should be the job of the FBI or local police with a warrant.

Woah, it looks like she was a graduate student who wrote an op-ed article criticizing Tufts response to the Gaza war.

She is detained for that? A blatant free speech violation. Probably the officers cover their faces because they know the lawsuits are lingering right behind them.

US constitutional rights only apply to American citizens. You know that, right?

If you are a guest in a country, that country can kick you out anytime they want. You are not entitled to anything. I don't agree with Rubio on many things but he's right on this one...

Rubio said. "When you tell us when you apply, ‘Hi, I’m trying to get into the United States on a student visa. I am a big supporter of Hamas, a murderous, barbaric group that kidnaps children, that rapes teenage girls, that takes hostages, that allows them to die in captivity, that returns more bodies than live hostages,’ if you tell us that you are in favor of a group like this and if you tell us when you apply for your visa, ‘and by the way, I intend to come to your country as a student and rile up all kinds of anti-Jewish student, antisemitic activities, I intend to shut down your universities,’ if you told us all these things when you applied for your visa, we would deny your visa.

"If you actually end up doing that once you’re in this country on such a visa, we will revoke it, and if you end up having a green card, not citizenship, but a green card as a result of that visa while you’re here doing those activities, we’re going to kick you out. It’s as simple as that. This is not about free speech," Rubio said. "This is about people who do not have a right to be in the United States to begin with. No one has a right to a student visa. No one has a right to a greed card by the way."

"So when you apply for a student visa or any visa to enter the United States, we have a right to deny you for virtually any reason, but I think being a supporter of Hamas and coming into our universities and turning them upside down, being complicit in what are clearly crimes, vandalization, complicit in shutting down institutions," Rubio added. "There are kids at these schools that can’t go to class. You pay all this money to these high-priced schools that are supposed to be of great esteem, and you can’t even go to class. You’re afraid to go to class because there are lunatics running around with covers on their faces screaming terrifying things. If you told us that’s what you intended to do when you came to America, we would have never let you in. And if you do it once you get in, we’re going to revoke it and kick you out."

Yes 100%.

Very well could have been. However, with this lawless administration one never knows these days. I'll I'm saying is that I think we should wait a day or two; at least until the spin cycle is over before we throw them into the dryer on super hot. 🙂

Of course this lawless administration is violating court orders from federal judges in this case also. RESIST!

Given this administration's track record of ignoring due process, protocols and procedures, a suspicion is aroused that their identities are being concealed because they were vigilantes or Trump's private militiamen (Proud Boys, Oath Takers, or some other) impersonating law officers ("Badges! We don't need no stinking badges!" ). In other words, Brown Shirt thugs. I hope this is clarified quickly.

Ok it is fair that a visa holder would not be subject to constitutional rights protection.

Rubio is right. But still... she wrote an op-ed. What does it say about a government that appears to be afraid of speech? The resources spent on identifying and detaining her are wasteful.

Yes. I 100% agree. Drump now wants to give January 6-ers reparation's. One could not make this stuff up. Un-f-ing believe-able.

I hope this is clarified quickly.
I'm hoping this un-qualified, lawless, and inept administration is clarified quickly. It will be sooner or later, that's for-sure. 🙂

The first sentence is dead wrong. Read the 5th Amendment for example.

And Rubio is wrong, too. International students are protected by the First Amendment.https://www.nafsa.org/professional-resources/browse-by-interest/immigration-and-visa-implications-first-amendment

Cases challenging these unconstitutional policies are already working through the courts.https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/2025/03/26/rutgers-faculty-union-first-amendment-lawsuit-trump-protesters/82660105007/

Well, remember, they defunded the FBI, too.

Because they had the balls to investigate Trump's crimes.

Incorrect. Nothing in the BoR says that only U.S. citizens are protected. "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects against unreasonable searches and seziures..."
