There is no guarantee that the US military will remain loyal to the Federal government. Elements of it may rather choose to join gun nuts that may be their families.

I recall seeing a survey which said that military members were more loyal to their ethnicity than to the US.

If you were ordered to shoot Americans, including members of your family who refused to turn in weapons, would you obey that order? Would you as a leader giver that order?

You knuckledraggers who found it so easy to make light of WND, could have confirmed th ...[text shortened]... nstead ignorantly tried to kill the messenger, and now end up with egg on your collective faces.
Your first link merely refers to the DHS buying 7000 semi-auto assault weapons (and each having a miniscule 30 rounds), hardly reaching a billion rounds of ammo. And even this story is distorted. Your second and third links have nothing to do with the government purchasing ammo. Norm, you should be ashamed for perpetuating a hoax.

“If we are going to wet our proverbial pants over 0.3% in annual spending cuts when we’re running up trillion dollar annual deficits, then we’re done. Put a fork in us. We’re finished. We’re going to default eventually and that’s why the feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest.”

"“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded,” said candidate Obama.

“To provide some perspective,” Levin noted, “experts estimate that at the peak of the Iraq war American troops were firing around 5.5 million rounds per month. At that rate, the [DHS] is armed now for a 24-year Iraq war. A 24-year Iraq war!

LOL I already addressed this on the first page.

Here's what Obama actually said in full context. He was referring specifically to encouraging expanded volunteer work with organizations like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps.

Obama, July 2, Colorado Springs, CO: [As] president I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots [from 75,000] and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals, like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world, so that citizens see their effort connected to a common purpose.

People of all ages, stations and skills will be asked to serve. Because when it comes to the challenges we face, the American people are not the problem – they are the answer. So we are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young people. We’ll call on Americans to join an energy corps, to conduct renewable energy and environmental clean-up projects in their neighborhoods all across the country.

We will enlist our veterans to find jobs and support for other vets, and to be there for our military families. And we’re going to grow our Foreign Service, open consulates that have been shuttered and double the size of the Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy. We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set.

We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. We need to use technology to connect people to service. We’ll expand USA Freedom Corps to create online networks where American can browse opportunities to volunteer. You’ll be able to search by category, time commitment and skill sets. You’ll be able to rate service opportunities, build service networks, and create your own service pages to track your hours and activities.

This will empower more Americans to craft their own service agenda and make their own change from the bottom up.

That was deliberately taken out of context to fool you, the stupid, their target audience. And what's hilarious is no matter how many times right wing rags like WND make a fool of you, you don't even get mad. You will continue coming back for more.

I didn't even see your question until now. In your pathetic paranoid hypothetical situation that would never happen, no. I would not.

I don't know. Presumably not since he said he would not. Sometimes there are loyalties which are above nationalism.
