Anything you want to be true suddenly is true when you see it in print.
I say there are tons of stupid people around right now, no wonder two of them get the same idea.
@Metal-Brain saidI guess you missed this one:

@Ponderable saidDo you think Biden will pardon Alford?
@Metal-Brain
Is the point moot now or is there still interest?
Carter pardoned Peter Yarrow for molesting a 14 year old girl.

@Ponderable saidWhy not? Carter pardoned Peter Yarrow for molesting a 14 year old girl.
I don't expect that he will.

@Metal-Brain
Because the bytch was a lying sack of scat. 😆
Carter recognized that, without witnesses, a single female accuser is not enough because women lie just as much as men. MAGA ought to love that conclusion but here you are criticizing it. You want to get rid of something, get rid of #MeToo.
"In the sworn statement she gave to police more than 50 years ago, the 14-year-old Winter said that when she and her sister arrived at his hotel room door, he was nude. Within minutes, she told police, Yarrow made her masturbate him until he ejaculated while her sister watched — an allegation her sister denies.
“I can’t say for sure [what happened]," Winter’s sister, Kathie Berkel, said in a phone interview, “because I wasn’t in the room ... she was in the room by herself with him for five minutes, and I was right outside.”
Winter told police she resisted but did not shout or try to escape the hotel room."
@spruce112358 saidI didn't criticize anything. Carter pardoned a convicted child molester. Whether or not the accuser lied is a different issue.

Carter also pardoned Vietnam war draft dodgers. More pardons than any other president.
@Metal-Brain saidBecause it was a miscarriage of justice. 😆

As for Vietnam, seriously? Staying out of that travesty was just smart.

@spruce112358 saidAnd Trump convicted of sexual assault? Also a miscarriage of justice since there was no evidence. Right?

@Metal-Brain saidCorrect afaik. 😆

He is guilty of insurrection and fraud re: business documents.
But the trend of convictions based on unsubstantiated sexual assault claims is bogus and should all be dismissed/pardoned immediately unless there is evidence other than hearsay.
Thaddeus Stevens : "Yet even YOU, Pendleton - who should have been gibbetted for treason long before today - even worthless, unworthy you ought to be treated equally before the law! And so again, sir, and again and again and again, I say, I do not hold with equality in all things, only with equality before the law! Nothing more."
@spruce112358 saidTrump was never charged with insurrection.

Hillary Clinton was guilty of misuse of campaign funds just like Trump and only had to pay a fine.

Why wasn't Trump merely fined as well?
The bank was happy with Trump's loan. It was a victimless crime if you can call it a crime. The fact is Trump's credit is good at any bank just because of who he is. No bank would ever refuse a loan to Trump except out of political bias. Or any president or former president for that matter.
@Metal-Brain saidWe all saw Trump commit insurrection - there isn't any doubt about it. Plus, he admitted to it. So he is guilty out of his own mouth. 😆

But our justice system is hopelessly corrupt when it comes to the wealthy. Rich people which can buy their way out of trouble with endless delays.
As for the 'victimless' crime of fraud, actually it is quite important to know because someone who engages in fraud and ignores laws based on self interest is NOT a person we want in public office. No public official has any right to lie to his employers (i.e. the public) so we would want to know if someone had that predilection.
But I'm satisfied with knowing that. I don't see much reason for punishment beyond the facts being made public, so that future fraud is tamped down.
Treason, though, is a capital offense, and Trump should have been hung without delay. 😆
