I guess we're so numb to the hate and bile that is regularly spewed out by certain posters here that this post didn't even warrant a single response. No condemnation, no suggestion by his ideological brethren that perhaps, maybe he was going a tad bit too far.
I'm sure I'll get a lot of false "whataboutisms" here but the depth of such hate and the willingness to express it on an online forum on a Chess site is truly sad and frightening.

@no1marauder saidI did point out that that one post outlines exactly why the title of that thread is real and necessary. While this attitude among parents is rare, thank goodness, it is nonetheless far too common among far right wing conservatives in this country. When I lived in North Carolina many, many years ago, I heard a LOT of this kind of thing coming out of the mouths of parents. I can't imagine how common this thinking is in Mississippi or Alabama.

One of the effects of Trump is that his supporters no longer feel any shame for saying whatever they think. Genocide, murdering children, sexual assault… nothing is off limits anymore.
