Don’t get you. I think I have resolved hiring the 5 most ‘merited’ employees. So now , I interview 10 managers. I pick the one that can best do the job. I’m color blind. I hire the guy who has best experience, who was managing a widget company in Toledo, wants to move south, and manage my company.
How will I do that without stepping on your toes.? I just hire best qualified. By your standards refererenced here, what other attributes or qualities should I look for.? And would I break a law if I hired whoever I want, to manage my blood, sweat and tears company? Should I be subject to some entity affecting my decision? Regulator? Who?

There have always been enough Americans to do the work the immigrants come to do. And the reason Americans don't do the work? The work is long and hard with crappy conditions and even crappier pay. No self respecting American will do that work.

The fact is there are numerous people who can do most jobs, there's rarely an obvious "best" candidate and even the most on the surface impartial evaluator can be affected by unconscious biases.

If you had bothered to read my link (you clearly didn't), you'd have seen that factoring in the need for as diverse a team as possible actually improves performance.

Why would diversity improve workplace performance?

I think that study is biased and wrong. That is like saying I will not work to my peak efficiency unless I am working with blacks, Mexicans, gay and trans people. I see no reason that would be true in reality.

I realize that racists like you think that whites are the superior race and can't be augmented at all, especially by something as lowly as people of color, but thankfully, you are part of a rabid minority in this country. Retreat, or a 'team building event', which our firm does every two years, is the method of getting ideal employees together.
There are most people that can do numerous jobs, too, so each employer/job creator creates the best path for his company. He can subscribe to the overall article of yours, or he can create his company in his own way. I am amazed at the penchant of liberals to depend on such studies which are all encompassing, and place priorities of employees over the success of rhe actual job-creating business. This smacks of your wanting the Fed Govt to keep people employed that are not needed............................so that they will have a job?????
No one doubts the point of the article, but only a liberal would think that 'one size fits all.' It might not work for me.
