Debates

I hope that all can realize the damage to American workers caused by Democrat support of immigrants taking jobs. Or, you can just avoid this post like you always do when it is not convenient. The worst of debaters.

From WSJ: “When employers can bring in more workers from abroad, especially for jobs requiring similar skills, the increased competition can put downward pressure on wages and make it harder for some American workers to find or keep jobs. The Congressional Budget Office acknowledges that immigration can negatively affect the wages of some workers, particularly those with less education whose skills overlap with those of new arrivals. If Democrats support immigration policies that expand the labor supply without adequately protecting workers from exploitation or enforcing labor laws, they should answer for the consequences to American workers. We can welcome immigrants who follow the law while still insisting that our immigration system puts the interests of American workers first.”

Find a high schooler born and raised in America who is willing to pick strawberries in a hot field for 12 hours straight.

You can't. They won't do it and it doesn't even matter how much you pay them. Delicate hands. On their phones all day. Bed rotting. There's no one taking their jobs because they won't work those jobs.

?? Those arenot the jobs the immigrants are taking, And I’d be glad to put my high schooler in a picking field, it seems to have worked for me. Mine was min wage (70 cents/hr). I want him to sweat, to work. Loading boxcars I did. They won’t do it? They’d bettter, or move out. Are you raising a faerie?

“Won’t work those jobs!”?.? Who are you speaking of? Make them or no supper. Make them kick Mexican ass. Geez.

The key word is "can". Such caveats apply when there is widespread unemployment not when there is a labor shortage as there is now.

So he is a manager who orders other people to pick fruit lols

Who exactly did Daddy have to “encourage” to land that cushy job?

And who are the workers your son manages?

Sorrells estimates that 85 percent of the workers currently picking citrus crops in Florida are foreign guest workers.

What an inane post. Implies something that just does not ‘sit well’ with this loser poster. Big time boring , goes no where. I mean, just who did Jeff Bezos think he was , selling books out of his garage. What got him there, and did his father in law give him any advice. Was he married? College ? 2nd job? Rich uncle? Poor uncle that he had to support? Did he reinvest? Hire anybody?
We need more info, turkey buzzard. Teach us wise one.

I thought you wanted to talk about your son.

Jeff is lucky a Hispanic immigrant did what his white father wouldn’t - marry his mother and raise him in a stable environment.

And yes, his mother and her husband Sr Bezos financed Amazon.

You generalized, you make no sense. You mustdistinguish the overall labor market from specific occupations and groups of workers. There are diff industries.
AndIf employers cannot find enough workers, immigration can fill llvacancies, help businesses expand, and increase their economic outputs. Further,
If newly arrived workers compete directly with existing workers for the same jobs, the increased labor supply can/will naturally put downward pressure on wages in those particular occupations,
If employers are using foreign labor because it is cheaper or because workers have less bargaining power, that raises a separate question about labor standards, recruitment practices, and enforcement. Too much for haggling I can only yay it is not a world perfect, so, workers and those mean owners innovate as best they can.
This capitalist tweaking, adding, subtracting to better the situation better is how we got great.
So the bossme, says we have to cut employees by 20%. Marsuder says no, they need jobs. So boss keeps them on, he bankrupts. Next owners wil learn from that. Make investors wealthy. Then employees become investors

OK. Then his neighbor-guy throws darts at the PUB, , he is happy at $40k a year, which is how much Bezos makes while sleeping each fay.. You seem to think there is something wrong with that pesky fact, and how Jeff got that kind of money. (Hint: choice and work)

What are the points you make in your haphazard post anyway, I am falling asleep
