Originally posted by VargEngland _were_ impressive in the 2nd half, but I still reckon someone will turn them over, so it might come down to points between you and France.
Can't see Scotland doing that well either.
England were rampant against Wales today.
Ireland shaky against Italy.
Nevertheless, my patriotic prediction:
Ireland beat France in Paris, turning everything on its head, Eddie O'Sullivan keeps his job a while longer, and a showdown between the three old realms for the championship- Scotland, England and Ireland... would be sweet.
Tradition has it, the closer and more dissappointing your opening game, the better your championship chances.
I made that up. But it still counts.
And if not Ireland this year, then Togo next year will keep me happy.
The Flower of Scotland
1.
O flower of Scotland
When will we see
Your like again
That fought and died for
Your wee bit hill and glen
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
2.
The hills are bare now
And autumn leaves lie thick and still
O'er land that is lost now
Which those so dearly held
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
3.
Those days are passed now
And in the past they must remain
But we can still rise now
And be the nation again
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
My prediction:
1= England
1= France
1= Ireland
1= Italy
1= Scotland
1= Wales
Exact same number of tries and points scored/conceded by each team. Japan recognised as Grand Slam winners and Six Nations Champions.
I also have put a small bet on Dwayne Peel to discover a new planet in our solar system by 2010, just to even the odds in my favour.
If we happened to beat the English at Twickenham, like we did two years ago, then the whole competition opens up, and would be settled on points difference by the end.
Of course, that depends on Ireland finding a bit of form, which hasn't happened since... well Twickenham two years ago (or maybe even the win last year against England in Lansdowne).
One lives in hope. But the competition looks a close one this year. Good stuff.

Originally posted by welsharnieYes, we've bee atrocious, except for the second half in Paris. If we find that form, Wales will be out of the match. So I fancy the Ireland for the win. But then you're a taff and I'm a paddy.
I fancy Wales to beat Ireland, the irish have been terrible so far, and to be honest the French eased off at the end, like Wales did with Scotland last year.
Looking forward to the game.
