Italy have been very good this season.
Their 3 games have all been losses but they were away to Ireland and France and England were other team.
Ireland were lucky with 2 (very) dubious tries. They held England for a long time and weren't disgraced. Against France they led at half time and were competing well (until they fell apart!)
They could beat both Scotland and Wales yet though I think Wales have to improve over yesterday so that's why I gave them nod.

I fancy Wales to beat Ireland, the irish have been terrible so far, and to be honest the French eased off at the end, like Wales did with Scotland last year.
😀
I was at the match. Great fun was had by all, let's just say!
Come on Ireland!!!
(P.S. Well done the Scots- lively competition this year!)
Originally posted by sjegI failed to forsee the injury to Stephen Jones (before which Wales were rampant), and that a new coach would decide to play Henson, who has not played in ages, and was dreadful.

Second half Ireland were rampant, and fully deserved the win (and I cannot argue against the result). Again, however, Kaplan has shown he is truly incompetant as a referee.
Originally posted by welsharnieI agree that Jones going off was vital, but only I think to the margin of victory. The Welsh were better side first 15 mins but so is every side who plays Ireland these days. And even though ye were the better side ye were only 5-3 up! Even Italy outplayed us first 15 and lost in the end. I reckon the Welsh Ladies would have been ahead after 15...

And you really can't complain about your coach - ye had a perfectly good one there until players decided to oust him. Do that and ye are obliged to perform on pitch which ye didn't do.
Agree with on ref. He's a homer wherever he goes so always nice to see him ref in Lansdowne!
Come on- you can't blame the defeat on Jones' injury. He's one player. Henson, a Lion, is supposedly a world class replacement. A Welsh bloke said to me "'e's only 'ad four or five games back, I gotta be 'oneeest!"
I saw O'Driscoll's starting return for Leinster against Glasgow in the RDS, and he was sharp enough, the next week he played in Bath against Bath, the inform English team, and ripped them to shreads.
It's just that Henson's the only one of his kind in the village, and that's the problem!
The crowd wolf-whistled his fake-bronzed, gelled, girlie-booted @rse as soon as he came on, and made him feel the welcome that anyone who talks cr@p about any Lion after the tour, let alone the captain, fully deserves. And Stringer, (along with everyone else) all 4 foot of the little terrier, knocked him on his pansy @rse off-the-ball to boot.
He's like the Beckham of Welsh rugby, without the talent, the good looks or the sportsman's manners. He's got the crap hair and cheap, vulgar bird, though. And sure, isn't that what you want from the pride of Welsh rugby?
Once you closed the mines anc chaples, it was inevitable that things would go this way for you. 😉 Don't blame the coach, blame Thatcher, and the changing world economy. And Henson too. He's the best. Haven't laughed so hard at a match in a long while.
Had good fun in the pub drinking and singing with the Welsh supporters, though. A great day was had by all.
England were woeful. i've been watching them since 1988 when Carling became captain. I witnessed the steady progression all the way to the 2003 World Cup victory. it's like they've gone back to the wilderness of the early 80's! They can't play away from home, and we'll soon see if they can play at home. Don't hold your breath.
Yeah, they were terrible yesterday - loads of errors.
Mind you, the French didn't look that great either!
A couple of scores near the end flattered France, but England never threatened them anyway.
The overall standard seems pretty poor this year, only Scotland and Italy seem to be performing at their best.
