That looks excellent. I'm a big fan of Asian horror films. I'm going to have to pick that up.

Side note: I saw "Das Boot" for the first time on Friday night. Fantastic!

Wow, what a mad film.

It was all about the NanJing massacre of 1937, showing the attrocities of the Japanese. There is some pretty macarbe, evil stuff in there, andf they add documentary footage in to validate the stuff you see.....i was speechless.

I recommend it if you want to understand the hatred of the Japanese from a Chinese prespective.

The link you gave with the blurb about it was upsetting enough -- don't think I could sit through the film.

You saw them bayonetting as baby from the mother's womb, and raping some kid. It wasn't what i expected atall (i never read the link, didn't want to spoil the film), i was actually speechless after it ended in an "OH MY GOD" kinda way.

They ended the film by saying that what they showed wasn't the worst of it.

They killed 300,000 people in 6 weeks.

There was a picture of the bayonetting on the site next to the review. It took a few moments to figure out what it was because it was a small picture. I stopped reading at that point.

But yes, there are so many horrors that have been done. The whole Comfort Women thing makes me want to hurt someone, but that wouldn't have been limited to one area.

The post that was quoted here has been removed
Black sun is a protrayal of a massacre that happened in 1937, where an average of 7143 people were brutally slaughtered by The Japanese over a 6 week period. Along with dramatic portrayals, there is actual footage taken by both foreign/chinese , and japanese. There are scenes where they show you the history behind certain film footage, and quoted both survivors, witnesses, and japanese soldiers.
During this six week period, japanese officers had a game to see who could personally butcher the most people with by their own hand (sword). There are scenes where they show you the history behind

Believe me, this film does depict vile acts, but it is not extreme in it's depiction of the attrocities of nanking, in fact it only showed a small part of what actually happened, and spared it's viewers from the real barbarity of actual events. What was shown is shocking, but nothing compared to what really happened.....and it was all true.
