Tell me about it.

I recently cancelled my subscription, can't stand listening to VR spewing his crap around here anymore.
This place has gone to downhill, no doubt.

It's only 3 recs; hardly the unheard voice of the community.

Anyway, it's the rest of the list that worries me. I remember the days when a post need 4 or 5 recs just to get onto the bottom of first page and decent posts had over 20.

Does no one recommend posts any more or have we lost that many subscribers?

boy, the decision to take away the rec count has sure worked out well.

I think people are just absent because they don't want to hear the crap that is flying around. It used to be enjoyable and entertaining to read the posts.

Look at the front page of the General Forum, 4 day old posts sitting on the front page.

that was my point, 3 recs topping the recommended list. never seen it that low, the fact that it was rusty is immaterial.

your other questions were the ones i was looking for answers for as well.

I hardly ever come here anymore. and when I do, I never open threads by the idiot squad. nor if the last post is by any of them.

Why not just read thoughtfully and post what's on your mind, letting the chips fall where they may...

without the premeditated purpose of garnering the instant gratification of a few popularity recs?

People have been saying the General Forum has been "going downhill" for years now.

The reason there are fewer recommendations on the average post? Isn't it limited to 10 per month, per person? It used to be unlimited. It's true that more recommendations are now spent on short, quirky insults or comments rather than long analytical or intelligent posts. That's because people have less patience (or maybe more jobs, who knows) and tend to evaluate or consider arguments and reasoned thoughts less. That's why the recommend posts have moved away from Debates to GF and other such places.

Why don't you actually try contributing to the conversation in a thread instead of singling out an individual and trying to bait them into an argument with your insidious and verbose defamations?

It's 30 recs over a 30 day period, I think.

Fair enough, I misunderstood the intention.

Ha! Let me know if you want any more of your thunder stolen!

Maybe more people are turning to Clan and Club forums where the posted content is more in their interest?
