I am away from 31/7 to 10/8, but as I said, I'll be quite busy when I am back, so it would probably still take me a few weeks. So don't wait for me if everybody else is ready to go.
Well you've got 5 days to go, couldn't you fit something (anything) in before then?

I doubt I'll be able to come up with something (and find all the necessary equipment and figure out how to use it) so quickly, but I'll see.

It would be a crying shame for you to miss this, I may hold off till August then.

I want a Bach Cello prelude or maybe you won't play that Nordlys, something by Grieg perhaps?

Of course I play Bach - I have studied all six suites, some of them several times. But it's quite a while ago since I studied any of them, and I have high standards when it comes to Bach, so I don't think I could do it in five days. Maybe I could get the first movement of Kodály's Sonata for cello solo done, that's what I am working on at the moment. But I still can't find that minidisk player...

Make sure it goes in Covers, not Instrumental, per the rules.

I think performing a jazz standard would probably be more instrumental than cover.

For all you jazz lovers out there, I couldn't care less how complicated and interpretive your personal rendition of a piece is, you didn't write it, it's a cover. End of discussion, if you don't like it, don't enter it.

That's absurd. It's tantamount to stating that if I play a classical piece it's a cover because I didn't write it.

Yup, it is not the case that it is false. If you and Cribs are really that concerned you can have a little category all to yourself called 'Jazz and Classical malcontents'.

I'm probably not going to enter anyway. The structure of the categories is racially biased.
