Just tell them it is a burning, stinging sensation in the eyes and that some have gone mad with the torment of having to see these blasted colors every moment of every day and that blinking is only a split second of freedom from the pain.....

Give the blind people something to be happy about now and then, sheesh.

Take a football.
Have the blind person feel the ball. Tell the blind person to move his finger around the ball in one direction. Make him realise that by moving in that one direction, you eventually return to the place you started.

Explain that no matter which way you move over the ball, you will always come back around to the same spot. Most people will be able to comprehend this.

Now, explain that this is two-dimensional. Explain that there is a third dimension, that you don't have to move around the surface of the ball, but that you can actually leave the surface all together! And that if you do, you've broken the mould of 2 dimension.

Then explain that everything one feels and senses is the two dimensions and that vision is a third dimension. It's another way of intepreting reality (the ball). That colours IS this vision.
The ball is the same, but colour is another way of intepreting its existence.

Or hot and cold...

I think they used to beat understanding into blind people, didn't they? Just like Kirk Cameron beat the devil out of his sex life. RBHILL, ivanhoe, any thoughts?

You can come up with that yet you can't post a simple link to a picture of a shelter???? 😉

I'm sure this is meant to work...
Red is a warm colour and blue is a cold colour.

Or what about: red is anger etc

Try giving them an assortment of lollipops from Jack Asstor's. Then tell them that bananas taste blue. That oughta mess 'em up.

Ask them to explain the different kinds of sound to a deaf person by writing on a sheet of paper. Then tell them explaining colour to them is a similar process.

Don't tell me that was your answer too, dominator. I think it's pretty lacklustre.

Explain it to them in terms of science, explain it to them in terms of art and emotion, don't explain it to them in terms of molesting a pigskin.

Bonk them one good with a shovel. Tell them the birds flying around their head are yellow, the stars are red...

This thread is making me wonder how people who have never seen at all dream?! Do they just dream in sound??? When I rub my eyes I can see all sorts of strange colors... I guess rubbing their eyes wont work... but do they just have BLACK all the time... or nothing at all!? What does nothing look like?!

This thread is confusing.... or could be just my post.
