We no longer have a cat. Miss Lady Go Lightly got a bit too friendly with a steam roller last summer. We now have a dog

named Roger, nicknamed Rog, who can play chess and see in the fog but doesn't know diddly squat about finding hats.

And you assume this because it is where you often find your head!

Just how it got there I have no idea... but, thanks to a trustworthy source, I'm now quite

sure that I know precisely where my hat is and the location is remote from Red Hot Pawn.

I have a nice cowboy hat I seldom wear. I'm a cabby/newsboy cap type.

Pseuds Corner writes: I feel a tension in the universal aura. Your hat is trying to find its way back to you, but there is a negative energy keeping it trapped in limbo. There are vibrations in the space time continuum that indicate a desperate pulling out of the virtual hat world into the synergistic reality of your non -dream existence. You must focus the full and undivided powers of your subconscious into the ether and you must reach out to grasp it and prevent it from falling into the black hole of its doppelgänger womb. But hurry! There are desperate forces at work.

Actually, Pianoman1, I'm finally beginning to believe that being a simplifier rather than a complicator is the better way to go

and, in the search for my warm winter hat, that salvation will most likely be connected with surrender to the greater powers.

Things should be made and kept as simple as possible but no simpler.

I take back my last suggestion.
When ultimate simplicity is attained, there is no need for the hat.
Don't buy another one.

What if it's true that 'Things should be made and kept as simple as possible but no simpler' and also true that ultimate

simplicity is not yet attained and it's still a coldy arse night without a perfumed pillow or faded olive drab knitted hat?

Brr.....

When ultimate simplicity is not yet attained you will need your hat. Non-simplicity is duality; where there is duality there is suffering, particularly on a coldy arse night without a perfumed pillow or drab olive green woolen hat.

Whilst I am, of course, delighted you think you have found your hat, I am appalled at the thought of the existential emptiness of my future life. What am I to do on those long wintry nights, when the chill wind howls through the aching cracks of my seventeenth century weavers cottage? My every waking thought was directed towards finding your hat, scouring parks, hunting through attics, searching libraries, trying to think of places you would be most likely to have visited, phoning, emailing, skyping. I am distraught at the thought of my futile existence from this moment on, and I cling to the one shred of hope that you are mistaken, that it looks like your hat, but is not, in fact, the genuine article. Errare humanum est.

Good news. My hat is found. It was in fact hiding in plain view (upper left of your screen). Russ was the culprit with an assist from his crayons. Thanks, CP, and all others who assisted in the search. Special thanks to Pianoman1 for for his timely encouragement.
