AOL gladly gave up all information to the government about every one of it's paying members without a court order, consent, or any legal reason to do it. Their database contained every search by the user.

"Most people have the internet, others have AOL" says my teenage son, when taunting my friend who AOL uses.

Go into a search engine and type “suing data miners” or the name of the search engine you are using.
Its called positive feedback (they’re lovin it) and these companies use your search criteria for their future actions or for plain old cash.
If for every legitimate action you perform 10 silly ones, they will soon become stuffed (try extracting data from that).

I don’t use AOL myself.

They were behind the times years ago..with their Club mentality..... Yahoo and google...way beyond...The name of the game is FREE..get your money thru Adverts. plus they "merged" with Time/Warner. Yet another joke in their bag. I never used it....never will... just like avoiding crap films like

Titanic..

I've heard that it gets its claws into your registry and won't let go. One way to get rid is to use a program called ISP unbrand.

My ISP, Talktalk has bought up AOL UK - [supposedly they have merged] but I'm hoping it won't affect me. I used AOL for a short while several years ago - it wasn't too bad then.
