Yes, that's why I'm stressed. I worry about getting hassled going through security, because I don't think I can live that long without my laptop. And I worry about being stranded in some bizarre airport. When I flew during the Air Traffic Controllers' Strike (yes, I'm a moron -- that's another thread), I ended up in Boulder. That would've been ok except that it wasn't on my itinerary and they really weren't planning to fly to Tucson. I think there were seven of us on that plane. Then there's the time I got stuck in Chicago because my plane sat on the runway waiting for the outgoing plane to de-ice. I don't worry about being blown to bits; I worry about all the other stuff!

It's a long walk from Wisconsin to Arizona.

True, you will have to do it. Unless you want to be in a car for 24 hours, or more.

Funny I flew just a month ago and it was so lax that I carried my swiss army knife (attached to my key chain) on the plane, to Detroit and then back again. 😳

I flew on Thursday, and the controls were not any worse than normal (neither in Germany nor in Norway; in Denmark I didn't have to go through security). I didn't even hear about the whole thing until afterwards. But it's probably quite different in the US. 😕 Good luck, reader!

Fast ferry to holyhead, train to chester, train to brum. total travel time about 6 hours. It works out at about 6 pints on the ferry and 24 cans on the trains, if you set off about midday you should just get in to brum in time toget ready to go out.

I'm actually going to rugby, but the closest and biggest airport is Birmingham.

If you are going to Rugby, I guess Rugby is closer than Birmingham. 😕

But going by train and ferry is probably much more fun anyway.

Edit: Oops, didn't see your edit. Thanks. And I forgot the snoozies.
