I'm torn. I am the son of Italian immigrants, born in Australia, have lived in Italy, and am a dual citizen but consider myself true blue Aussie. I have been playing football (soccer) since I was very young and used to get teased because I played "wogball". So I grew up worshiping the Italian teams of old. Baggio, Schillaci, Baresi, Maldini, Costacurta, Don ...[text shortened]... will leave…… So in times like this there is only one thing to say…

GO THE SOCCEROOS!!!!!!
I am proud of you mate!
Good on ya!!

LOL, I know we're supposed to RIDE kangaroos, just not in that way.

I'm enjoying the way this match is being played. Relatively clean, flowing football. Makes a nice change from some of the matches in recent days.

And no-one who's been fouled has tried writhing on the ground in pain yet. Some people have even got up QUICKLY!

0 - 0 half time

We've had more of the ball, but Italy has had the better chances. I think we're missing Kewell's brilliance a bit. :'(

I'm supporting the Socceroos in this one. They've shown some real guts so far. Personally think Italy look better in defence and attack but those Aussies don't seem to let them have the ball too often.

Ooh golly. I don't know if that was worth a straight red. It also looks like the other Italian defender may have actually made the first contact.

Any thoughts?

Believe me, it is a red card. Lack of blood does not mean it automatically only qualifies to be a yellow card.

Now prepare to see the worst tricks, low-kicks, dirty play and theater from the Italians...

GO AUSSIES!!!!

I know. I just wasn't sure he could have been said to be the last defender when there were two Italians there.
