gotcha

there is an annoying fashion for using a big word when a smaller one will do

however the practise has a long extensive history

the lower classes typically used Anglo-Saxon words, the middle classses Norman words and the professions words of Latin descent.

Similar to saying "utilize" when "use" would be appropriate.

if it meant 'about to end' you would not have to use 'about to finalize'
