I always forget the music I compose in my dreams, too (just like the great inventions or philosophical thoughts tend to be gone), but if I dream of music I know, I can often remember it (it has also happened that I have actually heard music - my neighbour was practising the viola - while I was sleeping, and ...[text shortened]... hat I had said loudly "But this is not an f sharp!", and apparently I had been singing, too.
I accept the hearing of outside sounds while you are dreaming and absorbing them in your sleepy realm. My alarmclock going off usually plays a part in the ending of a dream as an incorporated element of some kind. But "inside" the dream itself? I remain sceptical, but will investigate it right away by going to sleep and gather data. Maybe I never really paid attention to it. Fascinating 🙂.

Oh, just for the record, is talking in your sleep or sleep walking regarded as the same to a regular dream? Because my parents have talked to me while sleepwalking and I answered in a logically acceptable fashion... so I must have heard them for sure. 🙂

I guess it depends on what you mean by "hear" in a dream. Of course there's usually no real sound, so there can't be a real, physical hearing process either. The same with seeing, or touch (I am not sure if I "smell" or "taste" anything in my dreams). Obviously it isn't real, but it can sure appear real, and you can remember it as a sensory experience. That's what I mean when I see, hear or feel something in my dreams.

I have had some conversations with my sister while she was asleep... Very weird! I am not sure if that happens during a dream phase. The times I have been told I had been talking (or singing) in my sleep, I never remembered dreaming about what I had been talking about.

I think you are completly right with that statement 🙂. I just remember my dreams more like a silent movie. I'm so excited to go to sleep now... maybe I will "hear" something 🙂.

But physical things can be real in a dream. For example, I dreamed someone was trying to kidnap a young girl and I ran up and accosted him. The man had a knife and stabbed me in the gut. It hurt, but at least he ran off... then I woke up with a severe stomach pain.

My thinking (and I'm no expert on these things) is that I had stomach pain while I was sleeping and so my subconscious mind created a dream to explain it.

Of course it's also possible that it happened in another way... maybe my dreaming about being stabbed in the stomach made my subconscious mind give me real pain in the stomach which woke me up. 😕

Nope. I can still hear some of the songs I've dreamed. I don't hear them with my ear as sound traveling, but I hear them and can hum them.

One of my favorite dreams was me 'barn storming' in an old bi-plane. It was to the music of Led Zeppelin's Heart Breaker. That funky part with the strange whurring guitar and vocals right before the funky break.

No.

You had a tummy ache first. Your dream tried to explain it, or used it as a prop.

Do you mean Whole Lot of Love? Heartbreaker's pretty straight guitar all the way through.
