It's what both stocken and cadwah have been saying all along, and I don't see why it shouldn't be true. Of course it was a stupid idea, but if you'd delete everything which is stupid and has the potential to cause trouble, and ban the people who posted it, the forums would be almost empty.

Well, apparently either he or you decided that a ban was not justified in this case, so either he or you disagreed with you. Since you retracted the ban, I don't have a problem with it. And I was basically saying that you were handling this better than those moderators who are completely silent and let others do the work. Still, I am curious what you wanted to achieve by giving yourself a ban.
Is it the best solution? No. The best solution would be a PM from RHP saying "You were banned for starting a sarcastic thread sure to cause crap".
I'm not changing anything about the way I moderate, some want more, some want less... and I'll never make everyone happy.
