One specific thread did cause issues. Others cause issues as well, but most people accept when they have made a mistake and take their forum ban graciously. When someone doesn't, and it gets dragged through the forums for no reason, that's when it starts to cause issues.

Gets "dragged through the foums for no reason"...Why is a public questioning of an unwarranted ban such a crime in here? You're so protective.

How can you speak to what "most people" do with their unwarranted bans, if it is never voiced in public forum.

We all know that anything we say here might provoke someone. That doesn't mean anything you say is good enough reason for a ban. While any individual case might not be really severe, I'd say that a system which allows punishment without explanations and sometimes without good reasons is a serious problem and detrimental to the site.

Please, do me the honour of correcting my mistakes:

Stocken lost a bet and had to agree with, and basically big up RedNight for 24hours, and consequently started a thread about "loving RedNight".

I didn't read that thread, but from what I understand (and here's where you can correct me) stocken started getting a bit too into the loving RedNight thing. This was a topic that was sure to turn heads in the forums, and I'm sure that the same thing would have happened had stocken won the bet and the other player had to do the 24hours of loving RedNight.

Actually the thread didn't turn "nasty" until RookRAK came in and made the accusations he did, which he would probably have done somewhere else if the thread hadn't existed. For the most time, the thread was kind of fun and light-hearted.

The bans were not unwarranted!! Perhaps they may have been in your eyes, but it's the mods opinion that counts.

I can speak about it because people are often banned from the forums and very rarely do you see several thread about it.

If it's the mod's opinion that counts, they must have been unwarranted, or they wouldn't have been removed.
