I called you not nice because you called me a xenophobe (and spelled it wrongly, but that point is moot by now, hehe) without really unders n inflammatory post.

Thanks for being nice, I hope this helps you understand my argument.
just a small list of other points you failed to address.
these are arguments made in this thread, that i suggest you either didn't read, or havent considered. . .these are all quotes.

1.but the point is.
If Nelson Mandella was illiterate, would that make his words useless, and worthy of nothing but purile jokes?

2.Absolutely correct.
It is an attempt to stifle free speech and puts people of from posting.
There are people I know ( ok 1 ) that literally can not comfortably hold a conversation with others. He takes a while to respond as though he fears what he might say ( just a guess) and he may be able to communicate here a bit easier.
There would be many people screaming out to express themselves that are shammed into silence.
I say shame on you that inhibit these people with no foundation except for your concept of "humour", or your callouse or ignorant manner. I do not fear your critasizing me, I simply pity you.

3.my main problem with this grammatic hitlerism, is that if someone makes a pertinent point, sometimes it gets lost in petty guff about "you spelt this wrong", or something else similar.

Its just copy cat corrections, from people trying to be smart.

4. Sarcasm is what one resorts to when one is losing an argument.(debate). I am fine with it myself ( sometimes) among people that know each other well enough to understand the others boundaries. It is simply belittling yourself attempting to belittle others. It is a public display of arrogance and rudeness.

Your comments dont bother me except that I KNOW what they do do to others. My son is slightly Dyslexic.

5.Maybe your son would be less of a loser if people actually took the time to ridicule him for his disability.

6.have you actually read this thread?

Try it, and see just how ironic your post is.

And how much of a fool you are

7. think you have the wrong end of the argument.

I was defending non-english speakers.

i said that people who correct peoples english, do not always think about who they are correcting.

which is where you come in with the "they really should learn before they write" pearl.

I tried nice, now i'll try the truth.

I find your argument disgusting sir.

edit. one final point. why would a French (insert any foreign country) PC have an english spellchecker?

I really don't understand your criticism of me. In fact, reading over this last post, I don't understand how one sentence could even be applied to my argument.

You find my argument disgusting? Would you do me the favor of summing up my argument? What are these "comments" that I am saying that are bothering people? You are making little to no sense.

It is like I'm arguing with a drunk man.

That's an easy question to answer. They probably don't, but there are several other ways to try and make your argument presentable.

The first thing that comes to mind is, when coming across a word you don't know, visit www.dictionary.com

Or you can do like I do and actually crack open a dictionary (spanish) when I know I am going to spell a word wrong.

Why would you go to that much trouble ( not that it is much )to have a simple conversation. I think that is a bit sad. If I want to say something I say it. Pedantics are just that..Pedantic.

You think I am sad and I think you are just trying to find reasons to insult me because I think different than you.

Really, my original post was completely non-inflammatory and wasn't in any way attacking you or anyone else who doesn't spell things correctly. In other words, chill 🙂

Sure, you got it, I was too busy defending my comment to fight against poor spelling anyways.

Besides, I'm too happy to argue now. I've passed rating 1300 for the first time ever. Kudos to me!

Maybe other people could understand what you were on about if it was spelt properly. Some sentences in posts here either make no sense or have two meanings.

I have noticed that many people on this site can't really speak or read every English word. It could be from the fact that English is a second language. It could also be that they have a low vocabulary. I can't see much difference between those who misspell a word occasionally or those who use words that is not normally used in conversations. You would think they swallowed a dictionary and the words won't digest properly so they have to spit it out, in order to make themselves appear superior. Both can be annoying. Kind of silly really.

I think if these superior spell checkers mods were really superior they could probably figure out what someone was saying, if they would get there panties out their cracks. They claim it is difficult for them to understand. But it seems real easy for them to make a correction. So who is kidding who. It's mostly just nit picking, and rec whoring. Don't like the message, don't like the person, so attack the messenger. Lets see what spelling and grammar insults we can go with to take everyone's mind away from the message. Spelling Bullies are funny I guess. I guess I am guilty sometimes too. I wish I would stop it.

But I do have to admit, I do try harder. And I am sure many others are trying harder too. Which I guess is good. Now if I could just improve my typing. Mavis Beacon is just a witch who I say doesn't have fat fingers, constantly saying very good now lets start over. You'll be flying over the key board in no time flat. Liar!
