Pixies don't even come close to being in the same catagory as The Killers *restrains urge to vomit* and Green Day. The Killers are as generic and boring as they come and Green Day produce pop-punk crap for the masses, however they were one of the first bands to popularise such music and so deserve some respect, but very little.
Pixies inspired Nirvarna and were fantastic. Kurt Cobain said himself that smells like teen spirit sounded like a Pixies song.
