Bulgaria is great for both winter and summer vacations. Beautiful mountains and great skiing during the winter, and we have beautiful miles of beaches on the Black Sea.

I often go to Chamonix/Les Houches in France for skiing. Switzerland is also amazing during the winter.

Not when you are on a sailing boat. 🙂 And some of the ports were also really nice places. So I have to disagree with your assessment. The only Dutch city I have been to is Rotterdam, and that's really ugly, thanks to "us" (the Germans).
