If Rotterdam is wasted for some tastes, then he/she can take the train and go to beautiful Dusseldorf 🙂

Not when you are on a sailing boat. 🙂 And some of the ports were also really nice places. So I have to disagree with your assessment. The only Dutch city I have been to is Rotterdam, and that's really ugly, thanks to "us" (the Germans).
Everytime I think of Amsterdam I think of the prostitute boat race from Jackass: The Movie

Norway is great if you are looking for beautiful and spectacular nature. I'd especially recommend the Lofoten islands. They are full of tourists in summer, so it's best to avoid that time of the year. Also, if you go there some time between September and mid April, you may be able to see the aurora borealis. Unfortunately, Norway is very expensive, but if you don't stay at hotels, don't eat out too often, don't buy alcohol or cigarettes, and know what stores to go to, it's not really that bad.

My sister lived in Düsseldorf for several years, so I have been there a few times. I wouldn't go there unless I'd want to visit someone (or go to a conference, play a concert or something like that).

If we are into recommending ugly cities now, I'd highly recommend Frankfurt am Main.

I once ate a Hamburger. It was not very good. I prefer Berliners.

For which purpose?

(I bet it's a very ugly place. 😉)
