no you just have to sit at the front of the train like a *auto-modded* while your bike is padlocked to a seat.

i'm never taking a bike on a train again if i can help it, what a much of *auto-modded*. "go to front of train* stop sitting on your bike on the train* don't ride your bike on the platform* *padlock your bike to a seat, if we crash they will sue you*

i was only on the *auto-modded* thing for 10 mins.

I thought you weren't allowed on the train (we are talking local trains and not cross country?) when it was a peak period but are allowed when it is off peak?

I think the times are the same as your peak and off peak tickets, is it 7-7 or something like that??

😕

..i got on a train to the mojave desert nearly 40 years ago and saw luggage
with brass names tags that read "amelia earhart"...thought i was going to die...she was alive and on the train and i had found out....later i was told it was the brand name of a luggage set....

i can only presume you were on a virgin train - i have been on scotrail many times with my bike without issue. there are places to lock your bike to and you just sit in any seat you like

the only thing you have to watch for is if the spaces are all taken - i have seen people be kicked off if there is no space for the bike in the "designated area"

[edit]and it was also peak time (8:15am & 6:00pm mostly)[/edit]

you have to book in advance as there is limited space on trains and you can be turned away:

all here.
