About a week ago there were 28 3(a)'s in a row. Russ even posted something to say it was a record...

The thing is will be getting easier and easier to spot them. New members registering multiple accounts will sort of stick out like a sore thumb to site admins who are probably seeing this on a day to day basis now.

It is probably more a chore for them deleting the accounts as it is just wasting their time.

Maybe it is time to remove some of the banned list from view.

That way the idiots who get their kicks from setting up multiple accounts will get bored as no-one except admins will know that the accounts have been deregistered.

However people who have been banned for engine use should still be shown.

its amusing seeing all the people who have had mutliple accounts thinking that they could get away with it. then they get banned and wonder why, i mean that nishu person, how original just adding a number on the end. 😕

He may have other accounts that have a different name. 🙁

Can't the mods figure that out by the IP addresses?

That's what I'm wondering. Then again, if it's coming from AOL or a school library or something, it may be harder to narrow down.

Personally, I think if the site didn't allow people to post in the forums until they'd played at least 10 or 20 games, the problem might be solved.

I have a feeling that many people you associate with everyday probably have an account at home and work and maybe even the local public or school library. The IP addresses would be different, if I am not mistaken. Then there are probably other ways too.

I'm pretty sure only the Admins can do that.

That's not as easy as people think. Most ISP's assign dynamic IP addresses, meaning more than one person will use the same address at different times. Or, in the situation where the WAN side IP is assigned to a router, all computers connected to that router will show up with the same IP address (for example my girlfriend and I are both on the internet at the moment so it could be either computer causing the problem.) I also play from work, where I move from computer to computer sometimes. Loads of people at work use the site, and most of them have to move around more than I do. If Gasbag/7ate9/MobilSS/etc. is using a static IP address they could just block the IP, but I'd say the admins have already looked at that since this guy's such a giant pain in the bum...

It might be slowed, but I doubt it would be solved. I see to many who have multiples in order to inflate their ratings. But you are right in that it would be harder for them to get to the forums. It really doesn't take long to play 10 or 20 games.

Why would you need a different account?

I use the same account on several different computers ... different IP but same account.
