I wouldn't think of "checking out" here in the US as meaning checking out a girl... unless you specifically said "checking out a girl"
If you search RHP for the term 'checking out' you will find it used by people all over the world.

P-
Derived from what in the UK Services is known as Marching Out where a serviceman and his family leave quarters provided by Army/Navy/Air Force.
Items that were provided at the start of the tenure are "checked off/checked out" on a list.
The term was later "basterdized" so that it indicated fulfilling a given set of criteria...whether identified or simply accepted.
So if we check out a car, it might be anything from awesome to a Pimp My Ride, but Hey! Check It Out !
Same with women....the male pre-determined criteria needs no explanation, but we know what our buddy means when he says "Hey! Check Her Out".

With all this global warming going on the shingles on my igloo have been curling up on the ends and i have to keep replacing them. I don't need to tell you how hard it is to hammer a nail into snow..:'(

I found out an intresting fact the other day, usually when referring to "checking out" most people would think of hotels or travel in general.
Apparently, however, it also can refer to eyeing up women in America.
Is this true or was my source corrupted?
"Dayum, check out that fine ass bitch over there, she's ready for a pounding if you know what I mean..."
