Could chess ever make "good" television.......If it works for Darts why not Chess?

because it lacks action. People like to see things going.
Plus: at darts you can (more or less) immidiately tell if a shot was good. In a chess master game the majority of people including the majority of chess players will be at a loss to tell if a move was well or not.

We used to get the odd game here in the UK back in the olden days.
It’s a pity the BBC doesn’t add a chess programme such as the Sky at night on a Sunday evening once a month.
I am sure the action would be a lot more gripping than most of the crap on

Perhaps they could get RHP to create the content for it?
BBC4 could offer a slot surely.

I think they miss the point completely when they decide what people want to watch, if all the nation wanted was second rate (is there a first rate?) soaps then their job would be complete, but its not.

Sadly, the TV is taking a very serious turn for the worse, with the likes of all these competition shows that use psychological warfare to extort money from viewers by phoning in.

Morning everyone.

The problem is that I can read it, but I don't understand what it means. 😕

Corr! You'd think in this day and age that they'd invent a website that translates entire webpages for you so you could actually read French articles on the television industry!

If you can't understand what it means then, by definition, you can't read it.

A text is more than the sum of its words.

But nice try.
