I don't think that applies here much.
If you have any wits about you you will seE no star against me too. And that is for a reason!
I used to enjoy the General Forum TOO, in the days I was considered to be a laugh, witless, humorous and and of some use, now and again. The mis-fun takers gets to us all in the end. I'm off too - even though you've heard it before.
Good riddance to mikelom. I know you'll say it anyway!

Since there are only forty or so regular posters from tens of thousands of members, that proves that your site requirements are not widely shared. Most of us log in during a lull in play to see who is throwing their toys out of the pram and about what. Sometimes it's interesting, but mostly it's puerile and pointless...you're talking to faceless people with m ...[text shortened]... re taking advantage of their anonimity to post aggresive and deliberately offensive opinions.
the forums are an added feature - a few use it, but there are a lot that do not. (For instance out of checking whether my current opponents i'm playing have ever made a forum post i noticed that 39/48 hadn't ever and 2 had last posted in 2007)
Some will not post but do read the posts - and there are some that actually do not play on here but come to the forums to have a look around.
Some users specifically stay on the debates forum, some for the sport, music, culture and help forums. Others just play chess and stay away from the forums.
Typically internet forums can be really messy and i don't think this is any worse than the next one. In a couple of days this will all blow over and the cycle will start again

It is also true that this site's forums are vastly superior to every other internet chess sites' forums. There's little reason to choose RHP over these other sites but for the forums (esp. since RHP is deficient in other areas like lacking a useful internal database, being able to pgn full sets of games, etc. etc.).
If certain users convince the Site Admins to make these Forums more banal and heavily moderated, RHP will lose its one significant advantage over other sites. And that would be a shame.

i think that you are overstating the importance of the forums by claiming it as its one significant advantage over other forums.
as i said in my previous post they are a nice addition but nothing more than that.
Also as the majority of users don't actually post in the forums - then they are not really going to care what happens with them - but i doubt anything is going to happen anyway.

I say it because it is true. Hypersensitive fools like you are a serious detriment to this site IF the Site Admins keep treating your hypersensitive nature as worthy of concern.
Stop being so hypersensitive. If you're concerns and angst persist, please see a Doctor! 🙂

I was a subscriber long before you even were on this site. I've paid for other people's subs several times. And I've seen these "Forum Wars" with people like you trying to kill the Forums many times.
I wouldn't expect someone so self-absorbed to take what anyone else says "seriously".
