This match was just a batting exhibition. It was no contest for the bowlers who played pretty much no part - other than getting smacked to all parts of the ground!
The 1999 World Cup semi final was much more of a contest - as on that occasion, the bowlers played a part in the game.
This was certainly a remarkable game though!
You mean there is a match for "crotch crickets"? Do that judge the distance they can polevault from toilet to toilet?....urinal to urinal? **advise: Never drop matches into the crapper after, well, crapping because those suckers can polevalt...what the record?, and what country owns it?...I bet it's India

I just read this..nothings even been on the radio here.
Though its unbelievable to achieve such a score and make the chase you have to seriously ask was it really first class cricket... Surely granny from the stands could have come out and had a bat ;0
When odis were set up the inventors invisaged a score of 250 runs and a good chase.. pitches were meant to reflect that wish..
Had this been .. Richard Hadlee or dennis Lillee's last game and I travelled to watch it I would have demanded my money back at not being able to see the bowlers working their magic.
Post Mortem on pitch states required..

The Wanderers wicket is always high scoring.
There was movement and turn in the pitch, the batsmen were just on top this time. Probably the influence of 20/20 cricket is also making a bigger impact than people thought.

Bowlers may have to adjust their own strategies accordingly.
