Well it took me about a year to figure out how to configure Cubase to record MIDI from a keyboard. Now I wish to record an audio file via my sound card line in. I've set up a new project (24 track audio recorder) and have my minidisc player plugged into tha back of my sound card. Sound is coming out of my PC speakers so I am assuming that I have got it in the right hole!!! 🙂
Now when I play the minidisc, nothing registers within cubase. I have tried to change the input within cubase but I only have a vast choice of input 1 and input. Neither of which are giving me any joy.

You need to arm the track. I use Sonar, but I imagine it's very similar (used to use Cubase.) I guess there's a menu item called 'track' ... look there. Unless the track is 'armed', it won't register input.

What do you mean by 'arm' the track?

It means to tell the track that it needs to record the data being fed in, MIDI or Audio.

I think I will read all that tomorrow. I am getting tired. I have figured how to do what I'm doing with some software which has a 15 day free trial off the Internet. But thanks dude. It will come in handy next time I wish to do some audio recording on Cubase.
