I know very little about chess, just go by what I see. I have never had any ambition to go further or learn more. My grandson introduced me to RHP and then he left RHP and chess, leaving me scared stiff in my first game here, many years ago now. 🙂 Thanks, it's good advice.
Got lucky in a tournament game against an expert I was only 1400 at the time. He tried some tricks which I had learned about at the club that didn't work then dropped a piece, after that I just had to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. I'll always remember that game!!! You have to play the board not the rating of the person you are playing.
Have you talked with caissad4 I think she would be an excellent mentor, if you were really looking for one.

Just for the record, Rusty and I have not been "bantering" for the past 10 years. Until recently he resisted posting in every GF thread every five minutes, or whenever a new banality popped into his head. In the past there were stretches of time when he was banned or when he took a voluntary break for a few months. It was a break for all of us.
Rusty's memory of past events isn't always accurate but that doesn't stop him from dragging out old grievances and retelling old myths. I believe his main goal in life is to fit in, even if he has to reshape facts to make it happen.

You certainly have been bantering with me for over 10 years actually and at least the past 10, remember when you use to be on the Moderators side and good friends with them. I bet you've never had a forum ban have you? Phlabs was Moderator you went to his BBQ, he spoke very highly of you saying you were a gentleman and mild mannered man. It explains why you like to pretend to be a tough guy on here which you aren't actually in the real world.
I took a break until Robbie started his crap in the clan forum in 2016 with the cheating, before then hadn't posted much for a long time. My goal is to make sure there aren't a click of you picking on one person like back in the old days Andy which you were involved in rather you want to admit it or not. Being at least 15 years older than me, I suspect my memory is better than yours or you have forgotten things you don't want to remember about the nasty things you use to say to people.
No I don't plan on going through thousands of posts if they are still even there to find them for proof for you. I know , you should know and that is all that matters. Others that were here at the time know.

Perhaps that was why you wound up with a 4 year ban?
They have this fine line and you can go up to it, but just not cross it. Sometimes hard to know where it is, and it all depends on the Moderator who looks at the post.
