The "disagreement," as you put it, has nothing to do with your punctuation and spelling.

Do we need your permission to have a discussion?

Jesus, why do you even engage with this idiot. I can feel myself getting dumber just reading his posts.

I believe the comma should be used when necessary to help the reader. The pronoun that is a detour sign.
True sir, though the comma, an infuriating fellow, can also, on occasion, be overused, braking up the flow of a sentence.

And don’t even mention the Oxford comma.......

“Let’s eat, grandpa” versus “Let’s eat grandpa”. Punctuation can potentially save lives!

Terrible scenario coming up. (Squeamish people should look away).

Plane crashes in the jungle. Grandpa is the only fatality. After 2 weeks, his 6 surviving grandchildren are close to starvation and have started to contemplate the unimaginable. To eat granda to survive.

Tentatively, one of the grandchildren says, "Let's eat grandpa." - On this occasion, punctuation could potentially cost lives, rather than save them.

Dear FMF, I want a man who knows what love is all about. You are generous, kind, thoughtful. People who are not like you admit to being useless and inferior. You have ruined me for other men. I yearn for you. I have no feelings whatsoever when we're apart. I can be forever happy... will you let me be yours? ~ Susie-Anne
