The best thing to do is get some baby nappies (seriously), pull all the padding out, soak it overnight in orange juice - it will go all bloated and spongey - then stuff it bit by bit into your mouth and nose and ears and pants.

Not sure about the smoking thing. Good luck!

I've had a couple binge relapses since but I am now back on Day 6 again.

If you're serious about quitting, the first thing you have to do is get off the booze. Trying to quit cigarettes while continuing to consume alcohol is like fighting with both arms tied behind your back.

But here's the rub: Giving up smoking and drinking at the same time is next to impossible. Your first effort has to be to eliminate all forms of alcoho ...[text shortened]... seem to be a tenacious, determined guy. What more do you need to get to where you want to be?

I know, Andy.

I know.

I don't drink too much these days either. The problem is I have a closeknit group of friends who ALL smoke. I can't exactly cut them out of my life. But I have been doing "well". By most people's standards anyway...

Have you got to the cranky stage yet?

Ok, Perhaps in your case I should have said more cranky?

Have you asked anyone out on the street what the HELL they were looking at yet?

Would your friends think any less of you if you quit drinking? Your problem seems to be
that three elements in your life -- friends, drinking, smoking -- have become intertwined.
Use your mental pruning shears and cut away some of those deadly vines. Real friends
will stick by you whether you smoke or not.

Don't get me wrong - they'lls tick by me. No one judges me for drinking or smoking less. It's my own weakness that causes the relapses. I didn't mean to place blame on anyone other than myself in that post.

Giving anything up, breaking habbits it's all hard to do. I wish I could, seriously.

#watching thread to see if you manage it#

Good luck. Don't think of it as a weakness. Think of it as a choice.

The best weapon you have against nicotine is attitude.
