I have been playing 20 years on RHP now since I was 39. I'm 60 in June.
As RHP has been going about 1/4 of a century, would anyone know how many players have passed away to the big chess club in the sky from RHP?
RIP to all my chess brothers and sisters from around the world.

The players I miss are Grampy Bobby and Art Watts, those I know have passed away.

It is a relatively frequent occurrence for a a player's family to notify me of a death, unfortunately.

Always sad - games left in progress never to be finished other than by timeout.

I remember Delmer, who started Clan Caissa. We had lots of good conversations while playing. He died a few years ago and the clan notified the members that he was sick and probably wont make it. I managed to get in a phone call just a couple days before he passed... first and last time I heard his voice. So many people here we know but not well enough to know about their life.

There have been a few who have “died” via banishment too.

In fact it could be a good idea to have a admion-only thread in announcement about those deads?

I may have read earlier that HandyAndy is no longer with us, I miss him very much, he is special.

Apparently passed on a couple of years back. Certainly a stalwart of the RHP GF and a sharp wit which I also miss.

Was special, he is not longer with us. I use to have a lot of fun in war of words with him. I think he took things a bit to serious at times, but I suppose I did too. 😉

I think making a Forum for those no longer with us would be a good idea. Someday many of us will be on that list. None of us are going to make it out alive.
