I always wanted to learn GURPS. Besides D&D, we play Star Trek rpg (the old FASA system), Delta Green/Call of Cthulhu, and I've heard GURPS can handle any theme.

I know a group that plays it, but I don't like the style of the game. That is, I don't like that gamemaster's style.

Our group has, in form or another been playing since 1980. Four of us have been with the group the whole time, others have come and gone.We switch off between two campaigns every year or so.

Then we are not alone down here! I played my first game in college at Hodge Student Center in the fall of 1978. The group has changed some over the years, but there is still a core of us, and one wonderful couple hosts a game every Saturday night, exc. holidays, and has since 1990. Oh, the memories πŸ™‚

Greyhawk has always been our realm of choice as well. Though the most memorable setting was a city taken from a Judges Guild product, Calay. Of course, I just plopped it down in the world of Greyhawk like any good DM.πŸ˜‰

Any memorable scenes? The main one from my core group would be when Max the Minotaur (Intel of 6, as I recall) pointed the "firestick", launching a fireball into a bar-room melee, torching the barkeep, the drunks, and ebery member of his own party.
