You know, it wouldn't surprise me if Don Imus sued Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the Rutgers University for creating such enormous pressure on advertisers and the networks that they had no choice to fire him. This firing was not justified considering that the terms used are heard in nearly every gangsta rap song, out on the streets, and more than likely, between some of the very individuals that claim to be harmed. Harmed? Imus, who I am not particularly a fan of, Howard Stern, and the multitude of shock jocks spout off this kind of rhetoric to get reaction for ratings boosts. I seriously doubt that Imus really believed what he said, but it was a weak attempt at humor. None of those players were harmed...period. IN fact, they are all enriched by the experience. They are getting more press coverage than they ever got as athletes. Imus did not affect their abilities to get jobs. He did not single out anyone in particular and spout venomous comments toward them. It is ridiculous the level of the "political correctness" that is being cast down on some individuals. I believe that Don Imus and his family are the only ones who will get hurt out of this. I would laugh my butt off if Imus were to sue and win. I believe this is way overblown and the media is like rabid dogs searching for news.
