Honey,

it's not the cheating...it's the confessions that makes me gag.

On a side note, and this is VERY personal, I really couldn't care. I'm just in a bad mood of late and REALLY want to moan.

Did I just say "Honey" to someone?

I must be suffering from reversal Tourette Syndrome.

Yes. I agree.

All cheaters who stop cheating and don't mention it...get to stay.
Cheaters who come out whining and begging for mercy should be dragged through dog-poo, covered in feathers and forced to watch 48 hours of idols non-stop.

and no, I really couldn't care less if they stayed or went.
I was thinking more about having them resign all their current game, and starting them back on 1200 again, most of them will have played too many games for the provisional rating system to work, therefore it will be a long climb (maybe 30-50 or so games) to get back to their true rating level. They could be regularly monitered by the SCP (secret cheat police) for any further infringements for a period of time. Before being trusted again.

What good would a moderation system be if it was predicated on a double standard? SLAL, you're a nice guy but I hope your reprimands are fair and just and that you are not treated differently than anyone else.

Well okay, if you want to be all uptight and slightly paranoid about it.

surely a good cheat will deliberately make mistakes?!?

See.

It's pointless wanting to stop them. They know it's unfair. They know they're not really winning. And they know that being good at chess isn't gonna get them laid...never mind acting like you're good at chess...

What's the epitome of patience? Standing on your hands upside down and waiting for your socks to fall off.

What's the epitome of desperation? Pretending to be good at chess to get someone to shag you.

See where this is going?

So, if they want to cheat...good on them. I can't stop them and they're not really achieving anything. Fine by me. It's reality.

It's when they come out of their cheater's closet because of guilt that it does start to annoy me.
Not so much as I'd have them banned. Not so much as I'd want them to lose testicles over it.
But a good public humiliation will suit me fine.

BUT...I don't really see why only cheaters should be publicaly humiliated. Hell, I'd have republicans, vegetarians, pro-lifers and dart players publically humiliated as well. If it was up to me.

On the other hand, I'm all for bringing back colosseum-like games. I think feeding christians (jeez...bring on the moslims and jews whilst we're at it) to wild animals is poetic.

Hmmm... I've always wanted to program sort of a computer-chess server. One that either teams up two chess programs so they can play each other, or that allows you(r program) to play against the chess server directly.

Very nice if you've developed your own chess program and you want to see how it measures up to another one. The server side should have an easy interface so that the programs can play each other without human intervention.

Does anyone know if such a site already exists, by any chance?

ICC, ChessLive, and the ChessBase server all have capabilities for computer chess programs to play there directly via something like the WinBoard interface. Having a look around ICC will probably help you find some documentation on how it is done.

If this were to happen, then it would be better if it was a compeltely seperate site, which maybe interfaced with RHP. I don't see the point in having computer players here.

This is an e-mail based chess site, there is not much to do, only in the challenge have an option to check, and another player table as computer. One more shortcut ¨My Computer games¨.
I will for sure be in the top 20 in that league.

This is my main problem with the "cheat police" concept, who's going to check if the cheat police themselves don't cheat? Personally I think the cheat police organization is very open to corruption, and I've always stated this. BTW, until I found this thread, I always suspected SLAL may be cheating in some games, some games were strange, like him playing like complete crap for 10 moves, then suddenly, all his moves match well known engines. I didn't speak out, because I know SLAL is well liked, and we all know what happens to ppl who speak out against ppl who are well liked who you suspect cheat, that happened to me before and I will not mention "his" name again. . .

It's good to know SLAL admited to this so I wouldn't have to go through the torture of trying to expose him.

1.You wouldn't recognise an engine if it bit you in the a*se
2.Matching engine moves doesn't prove a thing
3.Playing weak and then strong,or vice versa,is more a sign of a human than an engine
4.Show the 'strange' games,please
5.You always knew huh? Why,yes,of course you did,of course....

I'm not geting into this, I don't think you have much right to criticize me, I'm not the one admiting to cheating, and I don't cheat. All you RHP buggers have on me is a "boooo hooooo, he can't stop whining", so what? Whining is freedom of expression, cheating is for scum. I think it's more important to deal with cheaters then someone who simply "bothers" you because he "whines", get priorities straight. Instead of wasting your energy trying to get me banned for doing nothing wrong, work on the cheaters. In fairness, you're partially right, a lot of the ppl you cheated against, cheat themselves, but that doesn't make it right.
