its probably nothing difficult, but iv just got a new comp (vista if that helps) and tried sending cv's off using a website, and i havnt heard back from anyone.. so i checked the cv as the employers would see it and it was just a load of random seeming letters numbers and symbols, so either something has gone wrong with encrypting or something from my end (poorly configured-ie not for vista yet) or it should look like that and employers use different software than me to open files and see it perfectly.. but im guessing that isnt the case. is there anything i can try to get this working? its kind of urgent for the next day or two to get sorted. thanks.
Originally posted by mazziewagProbably happened because you copied it from Word and pasted onto the website. Try putting it in notepad, get it to look right there, and copy and paste from notepad. Word puts in all sorts of invisible garbage that the site probably doesn't recognize.

Originally posted by rbmorrisThanks. what i did was click a link on the website which said 'upload your cv' so i clicked browse, attached my cv, and entered. would it be better to copy it into wordpad and try again, is that what you mean?

Originally posted by mazziewagChances are high that they encrypted it. If they are storing peoples CV's, on their servers they will use some kind of encryption for security, they same way they store peoples credit card data. Thats why you cant open it properly. Is there a place on the website you can send them an email, or get a contact # ?
