OK, there's no reason anybody should care, but I have a decision to make and I can't, so I'll offer it to RHP.

I have four possibilities of work:

Kazakhstan
Korea (South)
Japan
Nepal

I teach English, and currently work in Cairo.

I like, things to do, outdoor, fresh air, skiiing, skating, cycling, hills

I want to avoid, smoke, pollution, sand, locals who only want to speak English

Seems to me that you can't lose.

Nice way of putting it, I'd forgotten the beauty of the choice through having got wrapped up in the choice itself.

Thanks

I envy you. No matter what, you are fortunate to have the choice.

I'd pick Japan!

Japan has always appealed. But then so have the others.

Cairo's the wrong place to be if you want to avoid all that stuff! 😉

Korea is cheaper than Japan, but Japan is cooler

Nepal is nice, but a bit backwards and as for Kaz.....will enough said.

Hi mate,

From what we have spoken during a match or PMs, my humble opinion for you is to avoid Japan and Korea. You want to learn from new cultures through their real people and daily life. Japan and Korea are heavily "Westernized" and you will find their beautiful traditions and their interesting people infected by the same trends, faces, brands, and chats that you already know.

Aim for Kazakhstan or Nepal, which can provide you more and are less known to the Westerners, ergo aim for the exotic, because that is where you can find most of the value for yourself as a person and as a teacher.

Whatever you decide, though, you'll do great. Best of luck, mate!

🙂

I think you have a great problem. I have also worked or gone to school in several countries, here is my list:

Finland, (Born in Nokia)
Sweden, Sockholm
Norway, Stavanger
Italy, Rome
Cyprus, Larnaca
Canada, Toronto
U.S.A. (I live in Florida)
China, Beijing & Shanghai
Burundi, Bujumbura

And which one was the best:

Bujumbura, Burundi in Africa! I was there for 4 months! Shanghai was the second and Larnaca third!
I think Seitse had a good comment, select Kaz. or Nepal!

Sincerely,

Harri / Luck

I've been to Japan, and Korea, both nice places, but I would have to say Japan if you're going to be in the country, otherwise korea

Japan. The women there are freaky and love foreigners I hear.
